WE ARE CANDO.

CanDo is a start-up 501(c)(3) dedicated to providing co-occurring residential addiction treatment to adults living in Portland, Oregon and its surrounding areas in a home-like setting. Our flagship location will service male identifying individuals that qualify for high-intensity residential services.

What makes us different:
By offering residential treatment in cozier, home-like settings, we aim to reduce some of the negative impacts residential treatment can have on our clientele. We understand terms like “institutionalization” and “stigma.” These cycles can be hard to break! We hope that our setting will provide a sense of belonging and pride in recovery! Our model in the first home will serve 6-10 individuals at a time. They will truly have a personalized experience with unique access to and interventions from the treatment team.

Vision:
The vision of CanDo is to develop a network of co-occurring residential treatment homes that serve men and women living in poverty. Each location will carefully be selected and placed in areas where access to care is limited or in dire need.

WHO WE ARE

CanDo is committed to fostering a culture that supports diversity within our community and to those we serve. Where everyone regardless of race, identity, sexuality or background feels valued. We seek to find what binds us and to acknowledge our differences with compassion and understanding.

If there is a specific service that CanDo does not provide, we will do our best to connect individuals to the appropriate agencies. Anyone who witnesses a violation of CanDo’s commitment is encouraged to contact us immediately.

MEET THE FOUNDER

MEET THE FOUNDER

Our founder and Chief Executive Officer, Kylie Late, B.S., CADC, is nothing short of passionate about growing the treatment availability within the Portland Metro-area. She is in recovery from addiction to drugs and alcohol and has been working within the treatment community ever since. Kylie recognized the gap in treatment availability in the Portland area working as a CADC where she often had to notify clients of long wait times  before they could receive treatment. She desperately wants to be a part of the solution.

Kylie received her B.S. in Criminal Justice in 2015 from Stevenson University in Baltimore County, Maryland. She played basketball at the collegiate level and understands that to be successful in recovery and in life, it takes a village. Kylie utilizes a combination of her life, educational and athletic experiences toward her love of helping other people.

Since 2018, Kylie has wanted to create a treatment center that incorporates all the ingredients that she felt were missing during her treatment experience and that she has noticed working as a professional in the industry. She also recognizes that there is a gap in the quality of treatment for individuals with the Oregon Health Plan versus those with private health insurance. Kylie believes that addiction does not discriminate, and neither should addiction treatment.
